Hello from
“Nob Hill” Peal District.
“Inn at Northup Station”
The Inn is a super cool hip/retro small boutique hotel. This hotel has some great things about it, the staff is super friendly , it has free parking and enternet a big plus in Portland. The rooms come with a continental breakfast and they have free candy, fruit and coffee in the lobby 24/7 the coffee in the lobby is so so but the coffee in your room is a bit better and you’re only a block away from 2 or 3 coffee shops.
The entire hotel is decorated in a cool retro style with a bright color pallet you would be hard pressed to be depressed around, in this hotel everything from the sofa to wall colors pop with vibrant color.
The hotel is priced very very well with the nicest room just under $130 if you call the hotel directly you can get an even better price if you ask or use your AAA discount it makes the nicest room the same price as the basic.
Ask for a room on the street side of the hotel you can people watch from your balcony and you’ll have a view of the street car and night time torches that flame at night on the side walk if we had one complant the walls are a little thin but not to bad.
There is a roof top garden over the driveway area that has heaters seats and plants as well as a full size BBQ and prep area you can use to cook food you bring with you (great gathering party area) ask for a room on that end of the hotel you can walk out your 3rd floor room door to the garden. The rooms have full kitchens with dishwashers, a full size coffee maker (bring your own coffee and filters) , toaster and ice maker as well as real cooking utensils plate’s glasses and silverware everything you need including a cork screw.
You can enjoy and endless supply of starburst and tootsie pops in the lobby and meander your way to 23rd st area you will find restaurants , shops and coffee houses galore zig zag through the area on your way up to find the hidden bistros and restaurants in the area too. The starbucks on 23rd has a coffee press option you pick the coffee and they make a fresh press for two for just a couple of bucks. The Portland street car runs right by the front of the hotel and stops about 20 feet from the hotel entrance from there you can train up to 23rd if walking isn’t your thing or ride it down to the downtown area and back again. You won’t need your car.
If you don’t have a car available try Portland’s Zip cars for as little as $7 an hour you can grab a car from the neighborhood no checkout no checkin grab go and bring back it’s a great concept they are all around twon go online and sign up get your card and your set price includes gas and insurance too. This hotel is a great station of operation when your in Portland the prince laid back attitude and rooms with comfy beds are wonderful for when you don’t want to be right in the down town area take some walks and do some shopping it’s a great place to hang with friends walk to the bars or hang out and make some drinks in your room or in the garden.
Check ouit more pictures on our facebook page or on Trip Advisor That rates the hotel as #5 in Portland.
Till Next time happy travels
Tim and April!
