The Golden Nugget Las Vegas

Hi there!
We are back once more with some travel tips and reviews.. We hadent planned it but got some cheap tickets to fly to Vegas so we took off, being spur of the moment this trip was on a budget more then usual.

As you will see a budget and some quick planning can go a long way!
Lets start with the Golden Nugget on the down side this is considered the low end of Vegas BUT thats not a bad thing the Golden Nugget sits right on Fremont Street it has multiple extits right on the street as well as a balcony that over looks it from the Gold Diggers ...

Lets start with the rooms.
They recently built a new tower the rush tower it is just a couple of years old and you may think thats the place , it is clean and nice and new but thats not where you want to be.. UPGRADE is the key word here your upgrade will pay for itself with the benifits you get. The Rush tower is new but the VIP 16th and 17th floor have just been remodeled, plus perks..
The rooms are a dark wood rich dark colors with modern art, the bathroom has 2 bowel sinks and a very cool mini flatscreen tv as part of the mirror.. They even have it wired with a Bose speaker..
Lets talk Perks with the Gold Club Room Monday to Thrusday $109 a night... VIP checkin (which is by the elevator youll need to just go there- the door says VIP lounge) Free wireless internet -$12 a day, 2 Free bottles of FIJI water a day $400 each a day, Unlimited water , m & m's , mixed nuts, jelly beans and rasinets and apples by elevator. Key card floor only quests can be there. Only 50 rooms on the floor so your room is close by. Ipod radio, wireless keyboard, Kerig cofee maker.. TIP (buy a box and bring it with you ) they charge $10 for 4 cups ...
TIP be nice to housekeeping and tip our housekeeper left us a huge bage of coffee.. VIP line pass you get into the Cafe and buffet fast. Free Spa which includes the Gym , hottub dry and wet saunas, also very cool the spa has EVERTHING you need to get ready Razers, deoterant, hairspray , they provide slippers and you can hang out all day if you want , they also have fruit , lemon water a private lounge area and coffee all included  - Normally $20 a day per person, Check in discount book which saved us about $100..

The pools are amazing you may want to get a bungalo , if you do I recomend you get one at the hide out, the main pool ones aren't by the pool they are up a level . The hide out is great it is over 16 only you have to buy a chair , daybed our bungalo to be there even though that seems to go out the window by late in the afternoon .. The chairs are $20 each if there are 2 of you I recoment getting the daybed for $50 you can reseve on line to help spread out your budget.  The main pool is super crowded and the chairs are on a first come first serve you can grab a chair at 7AM or daybed for free. the pool water opens at 10am ... Its virtually empty in the AM.

The food isnt the best always but the proximity to Fremont street was great, the casino was small and everything was close by. The building had 4 exits to fremont street .. You are also just a short walk from real stores like walgreens for normal priced goods. Fremont street had cheap food free entertainment and cheap drinks.. It had a feel like cancun.. Over all if you are going to be on this end of Vegas this is the best hotel. Vic and Anthonys steakhouse was amazing .. Oh one last tip getting to the hotel I recomend a prvate car or taxi the shuttle took over an hour to get there.. Getting back however was very fast...   The Golden Nugget is a great budget vacation!!! Till Next Time Happy Travels !

  1. Great review of the place. Looks cozy and nice in contrast to the more popular hotel chains in Vegas.
